Mongolian Dissident Arrested in Beijing

Jiranbayariin Soyolt, a Southern (Inner) Mongolian dissident in exile and a citizen of Mongolia, was arrested in Beijing Capital Airport on January 6, 2008, while on a business trip to China along with two other Mongolian citizens Mr. Purevsuren, President of Mon-Energeo HHK, and Mr. Bat-Erdene, partner of Purevsuren. The three left Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia, on January 6, 11:45 AM, with Air China airline and arrived at the Beijing Capital Airport on January 6, 1:00 PM.

“Why is the Buryat language dying?”

A Politcafé under the above title took place on February 21st, 2008 in the café “ShabliN” in Ulan Ude. It was organized by the Human Rights movement “Erkhe,” in cooperation with the Regional Union of Young Scholars, Siberian Creative Group, and the “All-Buryat Association for the Development of Culture”, in order to commemorate International Mother Language Day. When the inspector asked the suspect about the murder, “Why did you return and began to finish him off?”. The suspect said, “Because he had narrow eyes.” This was told by the niece of the victim, 26-year old Ksenia.

Yesterday, the “MK” (Moscow’s Komsomol) told about the tragic destruction by brutal skinhead hands the native of Yakutia, 46-year Sergey Nikolaev, a Buryat by nationality.
Young bastards have killed him for narrow eyes, for not slavic appearance.
